Trekking 4 Days

At 4167 m, Mount Toubkal (4167m) is the highest mountain in North Africa. The hike to the summit is challenging, but it requires no mountaineering experience and the panoramic view from the top makes it worth the work. With the beginning of the hike a few hours drive from Marrakech, you can reach the summit and back in two days and still have time to explore the fascinating city of Morocco, Marrakech.

Day 1: Marrakech - Imlil. After arrival in Marrakech you will find the transfer in the small village of Imlil. Here you can explore the area and you will spend the night in a guest house.

Day2: Imlil - Toubkal Refuge. Today, we begin our trek. Position along the valley Ait Mizan, we first pass the village of Aremd then the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch. We then continue east and across the floodplains our route takes us mule tracks and into the high rocky cliffs above the valley. Crossing the river we eventually arrived at the shrine of Sidi Chamarouch pastoral, which attracts tourists and pilgrims. From here the trail continues to climb steadily, snaking and zigzagging its way up to the snowline and Refuge Toubkal (3206m), our stop for the night. Approx. 4 to 5 hours walk.

Day 3: Refuge Toubkal - Summit - Refuge - Imlil - Marrakech. Early in the morning we make our attempt on the summit of Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Our route will take us south cirque, crossing the stream above the refuge. Walking is relatively straightforward, but the scree and the altitude will make things very difficult in some areas. The views along the way make the journey worthwhile. When you reach the top of, you will see that the views of the surrounding landscape are quite breathtaking. From here there is a view in all directions, from the plain of Marrakech to the High Atlas to the north and south to the Anti-Atlas and the Sahara. We will retrace our steps when we return down the mountain and head back towards Imlil. Transfer back to Marrakech. Approx. 9h walk.

Day 4: Transfer to the airport. Spend the last hours in Marrakech, return home before departure.
